The American Heart Association issued a call to action nationwide. The new scientific initiative concerns “Hands-Only CPR” designed for the layperson. This will not change the BLS-Healthcare Provider version EMS professionals are taught but will hopefully encourage the lay person. Do all that you can as a CPR provider to promote this initiative, the chain of survival is only as strong as the weakest link!

Policy Statement 08-01 relating to Electronic PCR Submission was issued on Feb 7th. It outlines requirements for the use of and transmission of Electronic PCR’s.
Policy Statement 08-02 relating to Patient Confidentiality was issued March 31st. It outlines training requirements and state standards relating to patient confidentiality.
